Commercial Waste in Twickenham

There has been a settlement in Twickenham from the early Neolithic period, which was continuously occupied throughout the Bronze Age, Iron Age and the Roman Occupation. The area was first mentioned in an 8th Century charter as Tuiccanham. After the Norman Conquest of 1066, Twickenham became part of the Manor of Isleworth, granted to Walter de Saint-Valery by William the Conqueror. It is mentioned, under the Hundred of Hounslow, in the Domesday Book of 1086.  Nowadays, Twickenham is a centre for rugby fans, housing the world’s largest rugby stadium, located in the neighbourhoods of North and East Whitton.

To the south lies Strawberry Hill, home to St Mary’s University, Twickenham and to the East lies St Margaret’s, which has several pubs, takeaways and shops. St Margaret’s is also home to Twickenham Studios, one of London’s major film studios. The town has many primary and secondary schools, as well as colleges and a variety of supermarkets across its neighbourhoods.
