Reduce Waste | Recycle More | Pay Less
Here are some legal documents we need in order to operate as a waste collection company. Wilrose Environmental Ltd pride ourselves on being fully legally compliant at all time. This means our customers never need to worry about their waste, it's in safe hands. Please call us if you need any other information.
Wilrose diverts 100% of waste from landfill. That means that the waste we collect from you is disposed of in an environmentally sound and is fully legally compliant.
Commercial waste is taken to licenced sites where the waste is separated into that which can be recycled and other residual waste. The residual waste is taken to a Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) plant where it is turned into fuel for energy.
All waste is tracked by our documentation and we issue waste transfer notes which ensures you have the evidence that you need to show that the waste has been lawfully disposed.
Mixed Recycling Waste is taken to licenced sites where it is processed for recycling.
Skip waste is separated at licenced disposal sites into wood, inert, plasterboard, other recyclable materials and residual general waste. Each component is recycled and residual waste is taken to RDF plants where is is turned into energy.
Garden Waste is taken to a licenced green waste disposal site where it is fully recycled into compost.
From the very start we will ensure you receive the best service for your needs and this includes maximising your recycling rates whilst also saving you money. Whether you can do single stream recycling; have a variety of different bins on site or whether you can fill a small skip with wood for example, we will give you all the options to save you money and be respectful to the environment.
APPLYING THE WASTE HIERARCHY
The waste hierarchy ranks waste management options according to what is best for the environment and we encourage all customers to consider this when looking to dispose of waste.
The hierarchy gives top priority to preventing waste in the first place. When waste is created, it gives priority to preparing it for re-use, then recycling, then recovery, and last of all disposal (e.g. landfill).
Stage 1 - PREVENTION
Includes using less material in design and manufacture. Keeping products for longer and re-use. Using less hazardous materials.
Stage 2 - Preparing for REUSE
Checking, cleaning, repairing, refurbishing, whole items or spare parts.
Stage 3 - RECYCLING
Turning waste into a new substance or product. Includes composting if it meets quality protocols.
Stage 4 - Other RECOVERY
Includes anaerobic digestion, incineration with energy recovery, gasification and pyrolysis which produce energy (fuels, heat and power) and materials from waste.
Stage 5 - DISPOSAL
Landfill and incineration without energy recovery.
