These prices are for light domestic skips. Contents may include furniture, loft junk, garage waste, home clearance and light garden waste. If you put building materials in such as brick and soil, the skip will be much more expensive. If you put in standard house clearance waste, you are likely to pay the quoted amount.
6 yard skip
£252 includes 800kg of waste inclusive of VAT
This skip is perfect for house clearances and junk disposal.
This skip costs £252 inclusive of VAT if you keep within the weight limit of 800kg. After that you pay just £15 per 100kg.
This skip takes approximately 65-70 black bags worth of rubbish.

8 yard skip
£320 includes 1 tonne of waste inclusive of VAT
This skip is suitable for a big clearance project and is the standard builder's skip size.
This skip costs £320 inclusive of VAT if you keep within the weight limit of 1 tonne (1000Kg). After that you pay just £15 per 100kg.
This skip takes approximately 70-80 black bags worth of rubbish.

12 yard skip
£450 includes 2 tonnes of waste inclusive of VAT
This large skip is only suitable for bulky waste and light garden waste. If you fill this skip with heavy waste, you will pay significantly more. This skips costs £450 inclusive of VAT if you keep within the weight limit of 2 tonne. After that you pay just £15 per 100kg.
This skip takes approximately 110-120 black bags worth of rubbish.

Single Stream Skips

Wilrose can supply you with a skip for a single material such as wood or green waste. These are normally cheaper than mixed loads. Please contact us with your enquiry so we can give you an accurate price.

How does it work?
Wilrose deliver the skip to your property and let you have it for up to two weeks. We can't take hazardous stuff like paint and liquids or trees, but lots of stuff can go in it - please speak to us if you're not sure.
If you have a driveway, you can have a skip delivered onto your property. If you don't have a driveway, you will need a skip permit to put it on the highway.

Why isn't it a fixed price?
In our experience of providing skips, we do not feel it is fair for local residents and domestic customers to pay the same rates for a light skip as for a heavy builders' skip. Most skip companies will charge you more and you will overpay for a light skip. Old fashioned 'load rates' make skips more expensive for local residents. This pricing scheme makes skip hire cheaper for house clearance work.
You pay a cheap up-front cost for the skip which includes an average weight for that skip. Most customers will stay within the weight limit as long as it is filled with lighter waste. If your skip weighs over the allocation, we charge you in small increments of 100kg. You are still very likely to pay less than a load rate from another skip company.
This system is not designed for builders with heavy skips and we no longer offer load rates. The 'greedy board' system sometimes seen where the skip is loaded above the height of the skip are unsafe to transport and can damage the vehicle and the highway. Modern waste management is based on weight allowances which is safer and fairer to the waste producer.
How do I know how much my skip weighs?
The weight allocation we have given allows for house clearance waste and not for soil, stones, rubble and bricks. Green waste such as cuttings and garden clearance is generally well within the weight allowance.
Most customers on the light domestic skip system will stay within the weight limit. This allows you to pay for the light waste rather than the same price as builders throwing away rubble and heavy building materials. Heavy waste is more expensive to dispose of and so is more costly.
If your waste comes in a bit above the allocation, we charge you in small increments. We will phone you and let you know exactly how much extra you will be charged.
When do I pay?
You pay for the amount quoted above at the time of booking. If your skip is within the weight limit at the collection, you don't pay any more. If it is over the weight allowance, we will charge you an additional charge.
How accurate is the weighing system?
Our vehicles are fitted with weighing scales which measures the weight of the skip. You don't pay for the skip's weight itself - only the different between an empty skip and a full skip. Our scales are regularly checked and callibrated and are fully reliable. Furthermore, all skips are weighed on a weighbridge at the point of disposal.

How long do I get the skip for?
You can keep the skip on site for up to two weeks. If you are finished before that, just call us up and we will schedule in your collection. If you need a bit more time, just give us a call and we will see what we can do. If you need it exchanged for an empty one, call in and book it and the same payment system applies.
What can I put in a light domestic skip?
Furniture, garage clearance waste, light garden waste, loft clearance, house clearances, plastic toys (no batteries), garden pots and other light waste.
Please don't put in - rubble, soil, builders materials, driveways or heavy waste.
What can I NOT put in the skips?
Liquids, paint, oil, tyres, TVs and computer equipment, ASBESTOS, clinical or offensive waste, batteries, plasterboard (we can offer you a separate skip for plasterboard), toxic waste, gas cyclinders and radioactive waste.
There are very strict rules regarding waste disposal. Unfortunately if your skip contains anything on the list, we will have to return the skip to your site. Waste disposal sites are highly controlled for safety so please don't try to put these items at the bottom of a skip as it is all checked.
Damage to property
Wilrose is not responsible for any damage to property or the pavement. We always recommend skips are placed on boards or scaffolding planks to protect your driveway and the public pavement is protected.
Our terms and conditions state that any damage to private property is at the site owner's risk.
