Commercial Waste Collection is considered an essential service and we continue to operate as normal. Wilrose has sufficient staff and resources to continue to operate a full service during this difficult time. Nonetheless, we are aware of the massive impact the Coronavirus might have had to your business and that you may need to amend your service level.
Our professional drivers have limited contact with people during the day and are equipped with gloves, masks and wipes and are told to stop regularly to wash their hands.
If you would like a skip delivered or exchanged, we can still do this and collect it from you with no face to face contact and we will maintain a minimum distance of 2m at all times. Our drivers are keen to offer you the best service at this difficult time and understand that you may not wish to talk at all.
WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR WASTE
Businesses should dispose of waste in the normal way unless you think that there has been a case in your premises. See here about what can go in your recycling bins.
If you, a member of the public or a staff member has a confirmed case of Covid-19, the personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into a second bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste.
Keep these bags aside for at least 72 hours before putting into your usual wheelie bin.
For those people without wheelie bins, place the personal waste in a securely tied disposable rubbish bag (like a black bin bag) before placing in another sack and then disposing of it.
Recycling, glass, food and green waste can be placed in the usual bins.
Regarding skips - the same rules apply; please double bag any waste from homes with Coronavirus symptoms. You can put general waste, green waste, plastic toys, construction waste and household clear out waste in our skips. We can't take hazardous waste, electrical waste (anthing with a plug), liquids, food waste or paint tins.
You have the opportunity to cancel your current commercial waste contract if you are stuck in a rigid, inflexible contract that doesn't suit your needs. Take the opportunity to review all your outgoings and use a flexible local provider instead.
